1. Ask yourself: Are you ready to put yourself in the race?
Think of your beginning to date as the start of a campaign, one that may take a while. It's OK to not be ready, but once you've decided that you want to look for love, go ahead and put yourself out there 100 percent—and don't let your fears stop you. Know the kind of relationship you want, and be willing to put the time into dating in order to find the right person.
2. Get on the Internet. Think about increasing your visibility on the Internet. Get feedback from friends on your site or online-dating profile the way you would if you were building a business website. Does it really express who you are and what you want from a relationship? Are the photos of you projecting the right image?
3. Surround yourself with smart people who want to see you succeed. Don't hesitate to ask friends for help in your campaign. Ask for suggestions about what you could be doing differently to attract the right person.
